The Linfield Elementary Grandparents Day event is a very special occasion for our elementary family! Our students enjoy designing personal invitations for their grandparents and preparing special presentations for that day.
When our honored grandparents arrive at the entrance gates, students will escort them to the patio area where they receive name tags and enjoy refreshments with other grandparents and administrators. A program will be presented by students from every grade level, including recitations, singing a praise song with sign language, and a variety of other performances!
After the program, grandparents may choose to enjoy watching their grandchild engage with friends on the playground during a quick recess, or they may wish to visit the Book Fair with their grandchild. Grandparents will join their child in each student’s classroom for activities that our classroom teachers have planned.
Parent volunteers will take photos of each child with their grandparents that will be sent out later as a thank you for spending the day with their grandchild. An early dismissal is planned for 11:30 am in order for grandparents to take their grandchild to lunch, if they wish, and to spend the afternoon together.
We know grandparents are an important part of God’s plan to strengthen families and each year we look forward to meeting these special people who play such an important role in the lives of their grandchildren!
