Alice in Wonderland

Linfield Christian Theater Arts is proud to present our spring middle school production of Alice in Wonderland April 11-13, 2014.

Join Alice as she tumbles down the rabbit hole in this zany take on Lewis Carroll’s classic tale, where nothing is as it seems and everyone is a just a little bit crazy. This production showcases the talent and creativity of our middle school students, through both story and song.

Please join us in the Black Box Theater for this fun adventure.

  • Matinee performances: Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13 at 2PM
  • Evening Performances: Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 13 at 7PM.

All performances are in the Black Box Theater located on the middle school campus. To get to the Black Box, make a right when you come in the gate and drive all the way up the hill passed the middle school campus. The Black Box is at the the top of the hill on the left side.

River Trip 2014

Linfield’s annual River Trip has grown to become our most popular High School SLAMO over the past five years. This summer, a combination of 56 students and teachers will be camping under the stars for five days and four nights on the South Fork of the American River east of Sacramento. Daily adventures, including river-rafting, canyoneering, and rock climbing, will be guided by the professionals at Rock-n-Water, and these outdoor activities, along with worship (and s’mores) around the campfire will be the highlight of the summer for many students!

Trip Information:
Dates: June 24-28, 2014
Open to: Incoming Students in Grades 10, 11, 12
Trip Fee:  $500

A $100 deposit check is due by April 11 in order to reserve your spot!  Please submit your check and this registration form to Miss Young before April 11. The fee balance is due by June 1, 2014.

We are so amazed by the talent of our high school students and their willingness to participate in this annual tradition. We know that this show is going to be fantastic!

All participants must turn in a completed conflict sheet, audition form, and production fee to Mrs. Lee, Mrs. Warner, or Mrs. Gunthrie. Please email Mrs. Warner at lwarner@linfield.com if you have any questions about the production fee.

Rehearsals will begin the first week of March and all rehearsal information will be sent through Remind101 so make sure you are signed up for notifications. See info for signing up below.

Spring Musical Auditions

Attention all high school students! If you are interested in auditioning for this year’s spring musical “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” auditions will be next week.

Vocal auditions -  Wednesday, February 19 at 6PM  @Black Box Theater

Dance auditions – Thursday, February 20 at 6PM @The Gym

  • Advanced theater students and those interested in a lead role or speaking part must come to both vocal and dance auditions.
  • Those interested in being in dance ensemble you must attend the dance audition on Thursday.
  • If you are just interested in being in the ensemble, you do not have to attend auditions, but you still need to fill out a conflict sheet.
  • If you are not currently enrolled in a theater class this year, please sign up for auditions at Mrs. Gunthrie’s desk at the high school.
  • Interested in backstage? Please sign up for backstage at Mrs. Gunthrie’s desk.

Please download Seven Brides Conflict Sheet and Audition Agreement complete and sign and turn in to Mrs. Lee or Mrs. Lloyd ASAP. Please include your production fee when you turn in your conflict sheet. If your parents need to make a payment arrangement please email Mrs. Warner lwarner@linfield.com to set that up. Forms also available at auditions or in MS Room 313.

Linfield Fine Arts Academy Presents “The Foreigner”

Linfield Fine Arts Academy presents Larry Shue’s hilarious comedy, “The Foreigner”, February 7-16, 2014 in the Black Box Theater.

Charlie Baker needs to get away, and his friend Froggy knows just the place – his favorite fishing lodge in rural Georgia. To give Charlie much needed peace and quiet, Froggy convinces the locals Charlie doesn’t understand English. But the plan backfires when the lodge’s inhabitants reveal deep secrets and diabolical plans in front of their quiet foreign guest. Nonstop hilarity ensues and builds to an outrageously funny climax in this wild and wacky comedy.

ThoughtSTEM Summer Camps

All Middle School & High School students are invited to attend one of ThoughtSTEM’s programming camps this summer! No experience is required, and the camps will actually be held on Linfield’s campus throughout the month of June (check out the dates below). The cost is $300 per child/per camp, but the June 30-July 3 camp is only $250 per child because of the July 4th holiday.   • Make Your First Video Game!: In this week-long camp you will be introduced to the fundamentals of object-oriented programming through Alice while designing and building an interactive video game. Turn your favorite movie into a game or come up with one of your very own! Either way you will be able to play YOUR game with friends & family!
  • Make Your Mark on the Web!: Design and build a website that shows your interests and creative side! You will be introduced to website design as well as how to make your website interactive! In this week-long camp you will have an opportunity to experience real web development using HTML & Javascript.
  • Make an App!: Do you use mobile Apps? Have you ever wanted to make your own App? Have you ever wondered how they make Apps? Come explore how to make an Android App on the computer that you can use and give to your friends!
