Linfield Christian School is pleased to announce, starting with August 2014 registration, the addition of three online AP courses to its high school curriculum. These classes are offered as an eighth class and therefore are an additional cost of $700.
The following AP courses will be available:
- AP Computer Science A & B (two semesters)
- AP Macro Economics (one semester)
- AP Micro Economics (one semester )
These courses are approved by the University of California system, and
students have the option of taking the AP exam. The AP exam is an additional cost (it was $89 in 2014), the same as taking the course on campus. The counseling office must be notified by January 8 if the AP exam is going to be taken.
Linfield will provide advisement and registration support, and AP courses can count for college credit with the following colleges:
- Colorado Christian University – all three courses. It is advised that students contact the college they intend to attend ahead of time to make sure that college accepts transcripts from Colorado Christian University.
- Taylor University – Macro and Micro Economics only. It is advised that students contact the college they intend to attend ahead of time to make sure that college accepts transcripts from Taylor University.
PLEASE NOTE: Colleges may charge additional fees.

This summer all of Linfield’s athletic operations will be re-organized into a single K12 Athletic Department under the leadership of John Broussard and Amber Young. This new K12 Athletic Department will be headquartered in the High School and will provide leadership for co-curricular athletic programming across all three divisions. The purpose of this change is to better serve Linfield’s student-athletes by providing them with an extraordinary K12 sports experience that develops them physically, mentally, and spiritually.
John Broussard first presented the idea of a K12 Athletic Department to the principals and administrators on March 11th. Intrigued by the idea, a group of administrators, parents, coaches, and Board members spent the next two months working with John to develop the concept further. The revised proposal, which included financial support from interested donors, was presented and approved by Linfield’s Board of Trustees on May 7th, and we are excited to be moving forward!
John Broussard will serve as Linfield’s Athletic Director. John is beginning his seventh year at Linfield, having worked for six years in athletic administration, gaining experience at both the middle and high school. He has eleven years of coaching experience on teams of all levels (elementary, middle school, freshman, JV, and varsity), and he is the current president of the Christian Football League and the vice-president of the Inland Valley Inner Scholastic Association. John played basketball at Linfield College in Oregon where he served as the team captain and earned not only a Bachelor of Arts in Education, but also the 2003 Defensive Player of the Year Award. In continuing his education, John has earned one Master’s Degree in Curriculum Instruction and a second Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.
Amber Young will serve as Linfield’s Associate Athletic Director. Amber is also beginning her seventh year at Linfield; she has a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy and is one of only a small number of females in the United States who have earned a US Soccer National “A” Coaching License. She was a three sport athlete in high school and played soccer at Whitworth College where she was named the Senior Athlete of the Year. Since taking over Linfield’s Track & Field program in 2007, the team has won five League Championships, and Amber was named the Ambassador League Track & Field Coach of the Year in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Please join us in welcoming John and Amber into their new roles and please support them with your prayers as they begin to build Linfield’s new K12 Athletic Department!
