The original plan was to take 45 students on the Mexico House Build Trip (scheduled for April 11-15, 2014), but after only a week we had over 70 students turn in signed permission slips and $100 deposits! It has been such a blessing to see Linfield students so excited about missions and the opportunity to serve, and in response to the high level of interest, we were able to secure a larger lodging facility. We are now able to take ALL of the students who have signed up, and with the additional help, we will now be building TWO houses!
Miss Young’s Bible class has been fundraising, planning, and organizing kids’ activities and the logistics of the Mexico trip. They have also scheduled drives that will take place on each of Linfield’s three campuses in January so that we can take school supplies (ES), toiletries (MS), and clothes (HS), with us in April.
Our fundraising efforts are off to great start, but we could still use your help. Additional fundraising will go towards the cost of the second house, transportation, chaperones, and student scholarships. We are also in need of additional vehicles to transport 85+ people to Ensenada, Mexico. If you are interested in finding out more about the trip and fundraising, please contact Amber Young at email@example.com.
It’s a blessing to think that this trip will involve almost 25% of the Linfield Christian High School student body, and it’s exciting to see how God is already working. Please join as we continue to pray for all of the details to come together!
First semester final exams will be held on the HS & MS campus during the week of December 16-19, 2013. The Christmas season is almost here, and we are excited to celebrate the amazing gift of our Savior’s birth with our Linfield family! You won’t want to miss any of the annual festivities, so check out the following list of upcoming Christmas performances on all three campuses:
Wednesday, December 4 8:00 a.m. (ES Chapel Patio) – Junior Kindergarten: Where’s Baby Jesus?
In this energetic musical, the Junior Kindergarteners will share the good news of Christmas. After discovering that baby Jesus is missing from our nativity, an all-out search ensues, but it ends with the discovery that God is always with us when we believe. A small Christmas party with our families will immediately follow chapel (around 8:30 a.m.).
Tuesday, December 10 7:00 p.m. (Linfield gym) – High School: Lessons and Carols
A tradition at The King’s College in Cambridge since 1918, Lessons and Carols is a beautiful and inspiring telling of the Christmas story and God’s redemptive plan for mankind. The program will feature favorite Christmas carols performed by Linfield’s Academy Wind Ensemble and Decoupage Voices in addition to Scripture readings presented by our esteemed faculty. Please note: there is a change of venue this year, and there will be only one performance.
December 11-12 7:00 p.m. (Linfield gym) – Elementary Christmas Program (Grades 1-5): We Three Spies
Grab your dark shades and go undercover to join the exciting Christmas mission of We Three Spies. Agents E, L, and F are recruits with the CIK (Christmas Intelligence Kids), a covert group of spies who secretly bring Christmas cheer to the needy. But this year they’re facing an especially difficult challenge: keeping Ms. Harriet King, a Scrooge-like landlord, from evicting them from their headquarters, confiscating donations, and cancelling their Christmas Nativity program. It takes a little expert espionage and a lot of God’s unconditional love for Ms. King to change her tune as she finally joins the CIK and the entire town in a musical celebration of the true meaning of Jesus’ birth.
This LCES presentation, performed by 1st-5th graders, will be staged on two consecutive nights. Please check below to see which classes will be performing on each night:
December 11 – Grades 1-5 (Mrs. Love, Mrs. Hebdon, Mrs. Watts, Mrs. Gaul, Mrs. Locke)
December 12 – Grades 1-5 (Mrs. Craig, Mrs. Hannon, Mrs. Rones, Mrs. Hart, Mrs. Warner)

Tuesday, December 17 6:00 p.m. (ES Chapel Patio) – Kindergarten Program: The Best Gift of All
The Best Gift of All is a charming Christmas play presented by Linfield’s kindergartners. We will journey back nearly 2,000 years to a quiet little town in the country where Jesus lived, and your heart will be touched by the sweet performances of these students as they lift their voices in song.

The holiday season can be hectic, but Linfield Christian Middle School hopes to make things easier by selling and delivering Sees Candies directly to you in time for Christmas. It is our hope that this will be a blessing to you and a benefit to your children, as all proceeds will go toward MS athletic uniforms and supplies. All orders and money must be turned in to the MS Office no later than Tuesday, December 3.
There are prizes involved as well! For the top sellers: First Prize is a $75 gift card to the Promenade Mall; Second Prize is a $50 gift card to the Promenade Mall, and Third Prize is a $25 gift card to the Promenade Mall. There will also be a raffle for a gift card tree; for every Sees Candies’ item a student sells, they will receive one raffle ticket and a chance to win a tree filled with gift cards.
Thank you in advance for your support, and please do not hesitate to contact Jodi Crume at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions.
April 11-15, 2014
For the third year in a row, a team of Linfield students and faculty will be partnering with Baja Bound to build a home for a family outside of Ensenada, Mexico. Baja Bound works with a local church to identify families in need of shelter, and then mobilizes teams from the United States to build small houses for them. For the past two years, the home provided by Linfield (built over a three day period) was funded through the generous donations of students, families, and friends of Linfield Christian School. Each home features three rooms, a loft, three windows, drywall, a door, and a concrete floor.
We need your help! Our goal is to fundraise the cost of the building supplies for the house ($6375) and transportation ($2000) as to minimize the cost of the trip for each student. Please contact Amber Young at email@example.com to learn more. We also covet your prayers as we prepare to bless our Mexican brothers and sisters in Christ.
