Sarah Beshay

Class of 2017
After graduating from Linfield in 2017, Sarah attended Biola University in La Mirada, CA, where she studied Psychology and Intercultural Studies and minored in Biblical & Theological Studies. She also served as a spiritual development intern and directed a student-led ministry called Evangelical and Mormon Interaction (EMI); their goal is to equip Biola students to better love their LDS neighbors, to send students out to interact with the LDS community, and to foster a community where anyone can belong. She is currently in graduate school at Pepperdine University, pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology MFT and LPCC.

Sarah is passionate about mental health awareness and missions and hopes to pair the two in her future career path. She notes, “At Linfield and Biola, I was heavily involved in missions and leaned into the question of whether the Lord wanted me to submit my life to pursuing missions full time. My heart has been broken for the nations and all the peoples. The Great Commission is not an option; it is a requirement for us as believers, and we have the privilege of being invited into God’s mission to be a witness for His glory. In particular, the ministry of EMI gave me a compassionate heart for LDS members and a concern for the mental health conditions in the state of Utah.”

When Sarah looks back on her time at Linfield, she is grateful for the many opportunities she was given to grow, particularly by serving as a student ambassador and by going on the Haiti missions trip. She also remembers the powerful experience of coming together as a school community to pray for our head of school, Drake Charles, when he was battling illness. It was through these moments that she developed life-long friendships with people who still consistently point her to Jesus.

Ultimately, Sarah is most thankful for the way she was challenged at Linfield to understand her purpose and role in the Kingdom of God. She says, “I am grateful for the way my teachers became my mentors and poured into me, consistently pointing me to the Word. Linfield was where I fully understood the purpose of life as humans created in the image of God, and it is the place where I finally began to understand what it truly means to be invited into God’s mission in full surrender. Not only was I prepared for college and challenged in academics, athletics, and extracurriculars, I was prepped, stirred, and stretched for what was to come in life after high school. Linfield’s mission centers around empowering students to serve the Lord and the world through their character and leadership, and that is exactly what they do. Linfield’s mission has become my mission, and for that, I am forever grateful."
