Marc Horton - Head of School

Welcome to Linfield Christian School! I am honored to serve as the Head of School in such a unique and special community, and it is my prayer that as you visit our campus and learn more about our school, you will recognize who we truly are and why we do what we do.

For the past 87 years, Linfield has been committed to excellence in Christ-centered college-preparatory education, but our ultimate goal goes far beyond a high school diploma, a college acceptance letter, or even a successful career trajectory. Linfield’s mission actually harkens back to the original vision set forth by the school’s founder, Dr. Mabel Culter, and seeks to inspire students to know Jesus Christ as Lord, to love others as themselves, and to grow in knowledge and skill in order that they may serve the Lord and the world through their character and leadership.

It is that last part that stirs my excitement each morning as I drive onto this beautiful campus. We are equipping and empowering students to be world-changers in the Kingdom of God! This is an incredible mission, one with eternal weight and significance, and it has drawn a remarkable group of students, parents, faculty, and staff to our community.

When I first came to Linfield in the spring of 2019, I quickly realized that in all my years in education, I had never before encountered a more dedicated, talented, and caring group of people. Our faculty and staff love the Lord deeply, and they are passionate about serving in this ministry. They give of themselves selflessly because of their incredible love for our students, and they have cultivated a vibrant relational community in which every person is truly known and valued.

Not only am I grateful for the opportunity to work with such extraordinary educators in pursuit of excellence, I’m also thankful for the way our parents have chosen to partner with us in support of this endeavor. We are blessed with over 1200 amazing Lions in TK-12th grade, and it is a privilege to spend our days with them as we enjoy fun traditions, cheer on their successes in academics, athletics, and fine arts, and encourage them to pursue truth through the process of discovery.

We’re currently looking ahead to the future and praying expectantly about what God has in store for the next chapter of Linfield’s history. Specifically, I am excited about creating additional opportunities for our students to experience glimpses of what it means to serve the Lord and the world even now. We want to be a community that nurtures elementary students as they discover how to learn, that guides middle school students as they explore their passions and interests, and that mentors high school students as they come alive in their identities and prepare to boldly serve Christ and others.

This is an exciting time to be a part of Linfield Christian School, and I find myself filled with hope and overflowing with gratitude for the mighty work God continues to accomplish in and through this place, not because of anything we have done but because of who He is.

We invite you to come on campus for a personalized tour to learn more about what Linfield has to offer, and we hope you will consider partnering with us in this very worthy mission!

God bless,

Marc Horton
