Outreach & Missions

Serving the Lord and the World

Linfield students are called not only to learn about the love of Jesus, but to put it in action, and we are committed to providing a variety of opportunities for them to put feet to their faith by serving others in the community and around the world. By meeting the physical needs of others, students are able to demonstrate Christ’s love and participate in His ministry in a meaningful and tangible way.

  • Mexico House Build Trip

While small groups of high school students visit orphanages in Mexico a few times throughout the year, our largest annual outreach opportunity has been the Mexico House Build Trip. In past years, Linfield sent over 50 high school students, faculty, and staff every year to Ensenada, Mexico to build a house for an impoverished family and minister to kids at a local orphanage. Our students played and worshipped alongside local families, but they also did all the work  - swinging hammers, laying roofing, installing installation, painting, and then finally presenting the keys to a grateful family…all in less than one week!

  • China Mission Trip

Linfield has also sent teams of high school students to serve with Bring Me Hope in Yantai, China. The mission of this organization is to assure orphans of their intrinsic value, provide them with an outlet to experience healing through play-based therapy, and to ultimately advocate for their adoption. Linfield students spent hours in training as they prepared to effectively love and serve children who have experienced immense trauma and who have a wide range of attachment, physical, and emotional disabilities. Then the team spent five full days in "family groups" (a volunteer, translator, and child) at the camp in China, serving the kids and each other with love, joy, and humility.

Middle School

Each year Middle School students serve our local community by participating in a food drive with Community Mission of Hope and making fleece tie blankets for the Rancho Springs Neonatal ICU. They also work with Lambs of Love, praying over stuffed animal lambs and writing notes for kids in hospitals and foster homes. In addition, 8th grade students have an opportunity in December to serve at the Operation Christmas Child warehouse, packing up gift boxes and getting them ready for distribution around the world.

Elementary School

In addition to working with Sole Hope and sponsoring a child through World Vision, Elementary families are invited to pack and pray over Operation Christmas Child gift boxes each year. Students work with their families to fill shoe boxes with school supplies, toys, and other gifts; these boxes are then distributed to impoverished children around the world along with a message of God's love. Last year the Elementary School contributed over 200 boxes!
