Congratulations to Mia Delacruz, Linfield’s April Student of the Month! Mia is an exceptional young woman who positively impacts our campus each and every day through her unwavering dedication, servant-hearted leadership, and intentionality in relationships. Since arriving at Linfield as a freshman, she has embraced every opportunity to get involved, learn, and grow. Not only is she a brilliant and hard-working student who has maintained a consistently excellent academic record, she is also a talented four year volleyball athlete (indoor and beach); she has been an integral member of ASB, LINK, and the debate team, and she participates in every single honor society LInfield offers, even currently serving as treasurer for Mu Alpha Theta and as president for NHS.
When reflecting on the last four years, Mia says, “What I love most about Linfield is how it has pushed me to grow while also helping me build strong connections and relationships. I’ve had so many opportunities to step outside of my comfort zone, whether it was competing in debate or playing volleyball, and those experiences have helped me become more confident in myself. At the same time, the friendships and relationships I’ve built with teammates, classmates, and teachers have made a huge impact on my experience. Linfield isn’t just a place where I’ve learned academically. It’s where I’ve grown as a person and where I’ve created meaningful memories with people who have supported me along the way.”
Mia’s accomplishments are many, but what truly sets her apart is her character. She has a genuine servant’s heart, and she is someone who truly sees people and makes sure they feel known, loved, and cared for. This intentionality was seen in the way she embraced and ministered to the children she encountered on the Mexico Mission trips she attended, and it is evident in the everyday interactions she has with her teachers and peers on our campus. Mia is gracious, joyful, and unfailingly kind, and in everything she does, her life shines with the light and love of Christ. She is a true blessing to Linfield, and we are so proud to celebrate her this month. She will also be honored by the Temecula Chamber of Commerce, city officials, and local sponsors at a special breakfast.
