Brooke Nagel

Class of 2011
Since she was 14 years old, Brooke Nagel dreamed of living in Spain, and after graduating from Linfield in 2011, she spent a gap year with Ventana Ministries in Mexico and realized that God was calling her into missions and had actually placed this love for Spain within her heart for a bigger purpose. She ultimately earned a degree in Spanish (with a minor in Christian Ministries) from Azusa Pacific University, and after attending a short term trip to Spain, she was invited to join Misión Posible, the largest youth mission in the country. She has now served as a full-time missionary in Spain for over eight years! Brooke’s specific passion is for serving in youth ministry and encouraging teenagers/young adults to pursue Christ and share the gospel, and to that end, she has been involved in mentoring, short-term mission trips, discipleship, teaching, hosting/producing a podcast, publishing devotional journals, speaking at camps, training leaders,  and even planning a youth mission conference. She is currently part of a new church plant in the north of Madrid called EKKLESÍA, and you can find out more about her here

One of Brooke’s favorite Linfield memories is from Mrs. Woods’ 8th grade history class when they studied the Titanic and then had an opportunity to get extra credit by dressing up in themed attire and jumping in a freezing cold pool. She also loved having her dad get involved in some of her high school activities. For example, she was a cheerleader and a performer in the spring musical, so her dad played the trombone in the pep band and in the musical’s orchestra so they were able to spend time together. She says, “Linfield was important in my teenage years because when my emotions and life were complicated, it was a safe place. I might not have recognized it at the time, but the teachers and staff not only cared about me as a student, they cared about me as a person. They wanted me to know and follow Christ, and they encouraged me to become healthy in every sense of the word. I am so grateful they took the time to invest and care for me. I may have graduated more than 10 years ago, but I am still in contact with many of them!”
