Khanya Vezile

Class of 2022
Khanya Vezile attended Linfield for three years as an international student from South Africa, and after graduating in 2022 she studied political science at Howard University in Washington D.C. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in International Relations at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and hopes to ultimately get a law degree and work on behalf of persecuted Christians across the world, specifically in the Middle East and Africa.

She notes that Linfield had a profound impact on her life, not only preparing her as a good student who always gives beyond her best, but also training her to become an ambassador for Christ in word and in deed. She says, “The school broadened my thinking and helped me see how the work of God goes far beyond traditional ministry and extends to our day to day lives. I am grateful for the educators at Linfield who took the time to nurture my growth both academically and spiritually. Having people like them in my life during my formative teenage years gave me more confidence in myself and in Christ!” Khanya remembers two specific moments during her senior year that were integral to her spiritual walk and helped shape her relationship with the Lord - 1) when she truly dedicated her life to Christ at Winter Mountain and 2) when she hosted a worship night as part of her 20Time project in Economics. She says, “God bless you, Mr. McKenzie! That project birthed a new desire in my heart to create spaces for people to come and worship the Lord in His presence and to know Him deeply through His Word and in prayer.”
